Secret Garden | Spokane Photographer

As promised from last week, here are some of the images we made in one of the most romantic private gardens I have ever been in. If you are looking for a Romantic venue you should give Pam a call. It’s like being in a real live fairy tale. She invited me to come back, so I am hoping some of you want to have this experience before summer ends so I can take her up on that offer. Also the flawless face you see in these photographs comes from two things, Nicole takes excellent care of her skin and Shasta Hankins is one of the best makeup artists in the area. I always love working with her because if the girls have good skin, and Shasta does the makeup, I don’t’ need to retouch the skin! For me that is awesome, less time on the computer and more time shooting! WIN!!

I am only able to show you a few images because the rest are tied up with a publication and I am waiting to hear back to see if they will be published or not. The following is only a quarter of the session. I’ll let you know what happens to the rest.

This was all done in the wild flower garden. There is also a Bath tub, a bed, a pond, a swing, and so much more. She decorates her garden the same way one would decorate their home interior. It’s absolutely beautiful. She has inspired me to plant all sorts of romantic flowers in my yard and transform my yard into a secret garden. I’m sure it will take years to get it where I want it, but hey…. I’ve got the time. Besides it will be so worth the wait.

I want to use this location again, since my own gardens wont’ be ready for a while, so I’m going to have a GIVEAWAY! I”m going to give a Session (prints not included) Valued at $289 to one of YOU. Here is what you need to do to win.

Step 1. Be a fan of my Facebook Page (click the like button on the right side of the page)

Step 2. Give me your best tip for growing flowers by leaving a comment below (not on Facebook).

Step 3. Wait untill next Friday where I will announce a random winner.

Ok, I’m game. My flower planting advice is to layer, wherever you plant do it in layers of bulbs and seeds that will come up at different times during the season so that you never have bare ground. Start with Crocus, Hyacynth, Paperwhites, then Tulips and Daffodilles, and Irisis and Day lillies.

I love wild flower planting, most only need a simple scattering of seeds. Poppies are easy to grow and come in a variety of colors. For long term flowers, plant Flax, it is pretty and will return for years and years! And wild flowers, poppies and flax need no special care or extra watering. Sunflowers! Get a variety of colors and they are easy to plant and to grow. Save your seed in the fall and do it all again!

It’s important to start with good soil so your flowers will thrive. Something light and airy with lots of nutrients. But more than anything, gardening is art to me. Choose colors and flowers that appeal to you and create your masterpiece!

Holy Smokes! These are awesome!! Count me in :) :) …as for gardening tips… just dive right in! Include what you love and what jumps out and begs to go home with you, and the results will be amazing. Oh–and don’t forget to water ;)
